Nico O’Reilly Wins PFA Young Player of the Year Award

Manchester City midfielder Nico O’Reilly has been awarded the Professional Footballers’ Association Young Player of the Year for the 2025/26 season. The announcement was made during the 53rd annual PFA Awards ceremony held in Manchester, United Kingdom, on Tuesday.

O’Reilly, 21, won the award after receiving votes from professional footballers, surpassing five other nominees, including his teammate Rayan Cherki, Arsenal's Max Dowman, Bournemouth's Junior Kroupi, Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo, and Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha. O’Reilly had a standout season, participating in 53 matches and directly contributing to 15 goals.

His versatility was evident as he excelled in both midfield and left-back positions. He had previously secured the Premier League Young Player of the Season award and played a crucial role in Manchester City's domestic campaign, notably scoring both goals in their 2-0 Carabao Cup final victory over Arsenal.

This recognition reinforces Manchester City's strong legacy in the PFA Young Player of the Year category, following previous winners like Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Phil Foden.
