BUA Cement Graduates 60 Youths, Offers Jobs in Sokoto

BUA Cement PLC held a graduation ceremony in Sokoto on Wednesday, where 60 youths completed training as heavy-duty machine operators. Of these, 52 were offered automatic employment by the company.

The program, part of BUA's Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, aimed to empower local communities and address youth unemployment in Sokoto. Engr. Muhammad Haliru Binji, Managing Director and Chief Executive of BUA Cement, represented by Plant Director Engr. Aminu Bashir, stated that the trainees underwent a rigorous six-month technical training program focused on the operation and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment used in cement production and mining.

Binji emphasized the prioritization of indigenes from BUA's host communities in Wamakko and surrounding areas. Haruna Abbas Bashir, the Commissioner for Commerce, commended BUA for its timely initiative, which aligns with the Sokoto State Government's efforts to create jobs.

Alhaji Umar Muhammad Dundaye, Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, noting the employment opportunity as a significant relief for the trainees and their families.
