Galadima Critiques APC's Electoral Strategy at NDC Summit

Buba Galadima, an elder statesman, accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using the Electoral Act to cripple opposition parties during a speech at the NDC aspirants summit in Abuja. He claimed that the APC was secretly preparing a framework for electoral legislation to expedite the passage of a bill that would predetermine the electoral process.

Galadima criticized provisions in the law that limit options for political parties, particularly regarding the emergence of candidates, arguing that it creates confusion within opposition ranks. He expressed concern that the APC's intention was to manipulate the electoral process, warning opposition parties against adopting direct primaries, which he said could destabilize their chances.

Galadima urged members of the NDC to embrace consensus and rally behind candidates chosen by party leaders to strengthen their position against the APC in the upcoming 2027 elections.
