Reps Threaten Zero Funding for NACETEM Over DG's Absence

During a budget defense session, the House of Representatives threatened to recommend a zero allocation for the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) due to the absence of its Director General, Dr. Olushola Odusanya.

The committee, chaired by Inuwa Garba, expressed dissatisfaction with Odusanya's failure to appear and defend the proposed budget, which is part of the national appropriation bill for 2026. Garba highlighted that none of the appointed officials should consider themselves above the legislative process and emphasized that the committee's actions serve as a deterrent to government appointees who might disrespect the legislature.

The committee resolved to expunge NACETEM's budget from the national appropriation bill, stressing the need for accountability and respect for legislative scrutiny. President Bola Tinubu was mentioned in the context of the national budget presentation to the National Assembly.
