Burnley to Face West Ham in Championship Opener

Burnley and West Ham are set to meet in the Championship on Sunday, August 16. Burnley, who finished 19th in the top flight last season, is reportedly looking to appoint Craig Bellamy as their new manager.

The Championship season will kick off with Burnley hosting West Ham, while fellow relegated side Wolverhampton will play against Blackburn at Molineux on Friday, August 14. Additionally, Southampton will begin their season with a four-point deduction due to a spying scandal, traveling to Watford.

Cardiff will welcome their Welsh rivals Wrexham on Monday, August 17. The Championship season will also see Lincoln starting against beaten playoff finalists Middlesbrough on Saturday, August 15, while Bolton will begin their campaign with a home game against Preston.

The first competitive fixtures for clubs will occur in the first round of the Carabao Cup, coinciding with the Premier League's start.
