Kaduna Butchers Praise Gov Uba Sani for Abattoir Upgrades

Butchers in Kaduna State have commended Governor Uba Sani for the upgrade of abattoirs across the state, particularly the installation of modern cold chain facilities that significantly reduce post-slaughter meat waste. During a media tour organized by the Kaduna State Ministry of Information and Culture, butchers from the Sabon Gari branch of the Butcher Association of Nigeria expressed their gratitude, highlighting that the new cold rooms allow for safe storage of unsold meat, thus minimizing financial losses.

Vice Chairman Jamilu Umar noted that the abattoirs, established in the early 1980s, had suffered from poor sanitary conditions and a lack of preservation facilities. The upgrades also included the construction of a perimeter fence to enhance security against theft.

Murtala Dabo, the state commissioner for agriculture, announced that the state government is committed to improving the livestock value chain and food security, with plans to construct three modern abattoirs across the three senatorial districts of Kaduna State.
