Edo Queens Triumph in WAFU-B Women’s Champions League

Edo Queens emerged victorious in the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League tournament held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, by defeating Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the final. This victory allows Edo Queens to participate in the CAF Women’s Champions League finals.

Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, the Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), expressed pride in the team's achievement, noting the significance of defeating the only team that had previously beaten them during the group phase. Additionally, Ikpeme commended Rivers United for securing a 1-1 draw against FC San Pedro of Cote d’Ivoire in their CAF Champions League first preliminary, first leg encounter.

He also praised El-Kanemi Warriors and Shooting Stars for their home victories in the CAF Confederation Cup, encouraging them to maintain their momentum in upcoming matches.
