Edo Queens Kick Off WAFU B Campaign Against Niger

Edo Queens Football Club, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), will begin their 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifying campaign in the WAFU B tournament on Monday, facing AS Garde Nationale of Niger. The match is set for 6 p.m. at the Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

Assistant coach Gabriel Benson expressed confidence in the team's readiness, stating that they are well-prepared for the tournament and are determined to represent Edo State and Nigeria effectively. He emphasized the players' commitment to achieving victory in their opening match and throughout the tournament, acknowledging the challenges posed by a tough group that includes three former champions.

Benson noted that the team has acclimatized to the local weather conditions, which are hotter than in Nigeria, and reiterated their focus on winning the WAFU B trophy.
