Ecuador Names Caicedo and Hincapié for World Cup 2026

Moisés Caicedo, currently with Chelsea, and Piero Hincapié from Arsenal have been included in Ecuador's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as reported by BBC Sport on Monday. Caicedo, 23, is set to make his second consecutive World Cup appearance, highlighting Ecuador's strong core of European-based players aiming for a deeper run in the competition.

Hincapié will also make his second World Cup appearance. Veteran striker and captain Enner Valencia, aged 36, is Ecuador's all-time leading scorer with 49 goals in 105 appearances and will participate in his third World Cup.

Nilson Angulo from Sunderland has received his first World Cup call-up following a January move to Anderlecht. The squad includes players from various clubs, such as Pervis Estupiñán from AC Milan and Kendri Páez, currently on loan at River Plate.

Ecuador's campaign begins against the Ivorian Coast on June 15, followed by matches against Curaçao on June 21 and Germany on June 25 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
