Cape Verde Withdraws from Super Falcons Friendlies

Cape Verde has officially withdrawn from two scheduled international friendlies against Nigeria's women's national football team, the Super Falcons, which were set for April 15 and April 18 at Remo Star Stadium. This late cancellation has created uncertainty for the team, which is preparing for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled from July 26 to August 16 in Morocco.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade publicly criticized the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for its lack of communication regarding the camp dates and match preparations, expressing her concerns through an Instagram post. She shared a screenshot of a message from an NFF official stating that the camp would open on April 11, highlighting the absence of formal updates.

Ajibade's comments come amid growing scrutiny of the NFF's planning, especially with the Super Eagles also set to participate in the United Cup alongside Jamaica, Zimbabwe, and India from May 26 to May 30. Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozi appeared to respond to the situation by posting a photo of Super Eagles players.
