Carter Efe and Speed Darlington to Box on Independence Day

Content creator Carter Efe and controversial singer Speed Darlington are set to clash in a celebrity boxing match on October 1, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. Balmoral Promotions announced the event on Instagram on September 6, 2026, branding it "Chaos in the Ring," with plans for the fight to be streamed live on DAZN.

This date coincides with Nigeria's Independence Day. Both participants carry baggage from previous bouts; Speed Darlington recently faced Portable in a match that ended in a technical knockout victory for Portable.

Darlington had previously accused Portable of disrespecting him over a payment dispute related to a performance. Additionally, Portable has been involved in off-ring controversies, including a walkout during a rematch with actor Charles Okocha, where he alleged unfair treatment and biting.

Okocha was declared the winner of that rematch after activating a rematch clause following a prior loss in 2023.
