CCAF Calls for Africa Memorial Day to Reflect on Leadership

The Correct Connect Africa Foundation (CCAF) has urged African leaders to designate a day as Africa Memorial Day, aimed at recognizing the continent's political history and leadership challenges. Aleakw Odior, the Chief Advocate of CCAF, made this call during a ceremony in 2026, emphasizing that every African nation and diaspora community should participate.

Odior highlighted the importance of remembering past political actions to ensure a better future, stating, "A people cannot account for the past cannot govern the future." He criticized the systemic dismantling of African institutions and the ongoing exploitation by former colonial powers. The event is intended to educate children about Africa's history and encourage leaders to measure their success against their own civilizational standards rather than global opinions.

Human rights activist Femi Falana lamented the consequences of colonial and neocolonial exploitation on African states. Reverend Father Anthony Odior also emphasized the need for genuine leadership in the continent's quest for self-determination.
