CCB Verifies Assets of 108 High-Risk Public Officials

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), led by Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Bello, has completed the verification of asset declarations from 108 high-risk public officials, which includes 19 ministers, 37 permanent secretaries, and 20 heads of agencies.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability within the public service. The verification exercise aims to enhance the integrity of public officials and is complemented by the announcement of a fully developed online asset liability declaration system, which is ready for deployment and testing.

Additionally, the CCB launched a local government account portal, designed to provide free access to financial allocations for local councils since 1999, thereby promoting transparency at the grassroots level. The portal will allow citizens, journalists, and civil society organizations to monitor public resources and demand improved service delivery.

The CCB is also intensifying enforcement activities to recover assets and prosecute public officials who breach the code of conduct.
