Shettima Urges CCB to Uphold Integrity and Apolitical Stance

On a recent occasion, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with a delegation from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), led by its chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Usman Bello, at the State House in Abuja.

Shettima charged the CCB to remain apolitical and uphold integrity in its operations. He stressed the necessity for the bureau to maintain strict independence to function effectively and transparently.

Shettima urged the CCB to continue its digitization process, which aims to create a system that allows public officials to declare their assets and liabilities electronically, thereby eliminating delays and inefficiencies associated with paper forms. He acknowledged the bureau's current efforts in this regard and highlighted the importance of its role in promoting a positive image of Nigeria.

Shettima also noted that the CCB has undergone several reforms, including an increase in its budget, which will support its anti-corruption initiatives and enhance its investigative capabilities.
