Shettima Urges CCB to Maintain Apolitical Stance

On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima charged the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to remain apolitical and uphold strict independence to function with integrity, transparency, and accountability. He urged the bureau to sustain its digital processes and create systems that allow public officials to declare their assets and liabilities electronically.

This initiative aims to eliminate delays and inefficiencies associated with paper forms and to facilitate the bureau's operations in obtaining foreign jurisdictions. Shettima made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the CCB, led by its Chairman, Dr.

Abdullahi Usman Bello, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. He congratulated Bello and his team on their assumption of office and cautioned against controversies, emphasizing the need for the bureau to play a vital role in promoting a good image of Nigeria.

Dr. Bello acknowledged the support from President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in increasing the bureau's budget and noted ongoing reforms, including the digitization of processes.
