CCB Proposes Asset Declaration Compliance for Public Officers

The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) has proposed that compliance with asset declaration should be a prerequisite for the payment of public officers. This proposal was presented by Mr.

Akinfolarin Feyishola, the Southeast Zonal Director of the CCB, during a visit to Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti.

Feyishola highlighted that the agency has begun digitizing the asset declaration process and has ceased issuing physical forms for this exercise. He indicated that the entire system is expected to be fully online by the third quarter of the year.

Governor Otti was encouraged to mandate compliance among political appointees and to assist the agency in executing this proposal. The governor acknowledged the CCB's efforts and emphasized the importance of compliance with asset declaration as a minimum standard for public office holders, noting that no public officer should be excused from this requirement.

Additionally, he mentioned that the state government would work with relevant officials to ensure full compliance with asset declaration requirements.
