Otti Directs Abia Public Officials to Declare Assets

On Tuesday, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State urged public office holders to declare their assets, emphasizing that compliance with asset declaration standards is a minimum requirement for all public officials in Nigeria. During a meeting with top officials from the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) southeast zone, Otti highlighted the constitutional obligation for public office holders to declare their assets upon assuming office.

He noted that it is concerning when individuals do not visit the office to comply with this requirement. Otti instructed the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Mr.

Emmanuel Meribol, to collaborate with relevant officials to ensure full compliance among public office holders in the state. Zonal Director of the CCB, Mr.

Akinfolarin Feyishola, also appealed to the governor for assistance in enlightening Abia's public office holders about the importance of asset declaration.
