Kids Resource Centre Concludes Literacy Summer Camp

The Kids Resource Centre (KRC), an initiative of the Smart Kids Literacy Foundation, successfully concluded its fifth edition of the literacy summer camp, which took place from August 10 to 22 in Bonny Island, Rivers State. Deborah Mogho, the founder of KRC, stated that the camp aimed to provide children with opportunities to learn and develop skills beyond traditional classroom settings.

The program included activities such as reading adventures, science exploration, creative arts, leadership and life skills training, debates, games, and talent development. A significant aspect of this year's camp was a community service initiative focused on environmental cleanliness, where children participated in a supervised clean-up exercise.

Mogho emphasized that literacy encompasses more than reading and writing; it involves nurturing confident thinkers and responsible community members. The camp also offered opportunities for volunteers and facilitators to contribute their skills to support the children's development, reaffirming KRC's commitment to enhancing access to quality literacy activities for children in Bonny Island.
