Coal Mine Explosion in Shanxi Kills 82, Nine Missing

On Friday, at 7:29 PM local time, a blast at the Liushenyu Coal Mine in Shanxi Province, China, resulted in the deaths of at least 82 individuals, with nine others still unaccounted for. At the time of the explosion, 247 workers were underground, and rescue operations began promptly, with efforts continuing into Saturday morning.
