Christine Marinoni: Advocate and Cynthia Nixon's Wife

Christine Marinoni is an education activist and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, known publicly as the wife of actress Cynthia Nixon. The couple met in 2001 while working with the Alliance for Quality Education, an organization Marinoni founded.

They began dating in 2004 and married in May 2012 after New York passed the Marriage Equality Act. Marinoni, who grew up in Washington State and has lived in New York since the early 1990s, has a degree in economic development from Columbia University.

She became involved in political activism in 1995 and founded the Alliance for Quality Education to advocate for high-quality public education in New York. Marinoni served as a senior adviser for community partnerships under New York City Deputy Mayor Richard Buery and later in Mayor Bill de Blasio's administration until 2018, when she stepped down to support Nixon's gubernatorial campaign.

The couple has one child together, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, born in 2011.
