LaLiga Chief Criticizes EPL Over Man City Probe Delays

Javier Tebas, the President of LaLiga, has publicly criticized the Premier League regarding the ongoing investigation into Manchester City, which faces 115 financial charges. Tebas expressed frustration over the prolonged process, noting that the independent commission's verdict is not expected until December 2024.

He highlighted the Premier League's failure to manage the situation effectively, contrasting it with the swift sanctions imposed on clubs like Everton and Nottingham Forest for financial breaches. Tebas also raised concerns about the Premier League's financial framework, particularly following a recent vote to replace the existing profit and sustainability rule with a new squad cost ratio system, which will limit club spending to 85% of annual revenue.

He warned that this new spending model could distort the European transfer market and further entrench the financial advantages already enjoyed by Premier League clubs. Tebas's comments reflect a growing scrutiny of the Premier League's regulatory processes in light of Manchester City's unresolved case.
