Former Minister Reveals Reasons Behind Collapse of Saraki's Political Dynasty in Kwara State

Bolaji Abdullahi, a former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, detailed in his memoir the downfall of Bukola Saraki's political dynasty in Kwara State. Abdullahi attributed the collapse to Saraki's political miscalculations, including defections and strained relations with the APC leadership.

Saraki's defection to the PDP in 2018 further worsened the situation. Despite attempts to mend fences, Saraki lost the PDP presidential primary in 2018 and later failed to secure a return to the Senate in the 2019 elections.

This led to the dismantling of Saraki's political structure in Kwara State, marking the first time since 1979 that a political leader emerged in Kwara without Saraki's backing, solidifying his absence from elected office.
