Fresh Kogi Attack: Clergymen and Families Abducted

On Wednesday night around 10 PM, a violent attack in Kogi State led to the abduction of several individuals, including a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, his wife, and children. Local sources reported that gunfire erupted, causing panic and forcing residents to flee their homes.

The attack reportedly took place in the Odo Eri community, with victims also including members of the Christ Apostolic Church. Senator Sundai Karimi condemned the incident, warning that such occurrences should not reverse recent security gains in the area.

He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted individuals and bring the perpetrators to justice. The Kogi State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Saliu Oyiza, did not respond to requests for comments regarding the incident.

The attack appears to be a desperate act by criminal elements under pressure, as indicated by local sources.
