Ogun Polytechnic Rector Advocates for Environmental Action

During the 2026 World Environment Day celebration at Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Dr. Kehind Oseni, the Rector, called for an attitudinal change towards environmental responsibility among students and the public.

He emphasized that climate change is no longer a distant concern, as its effects are already being felt through extreme weather events that disrupt livelihoods. Dr.

Oseni noted that the theme of the year, "Inspire Nature, Climate Future," underscores the urgent need for humanity to learn from nature to confront environmental challenges. He stressed the importance of protecting the environment and investing in solutions derived from nature for future generations.

The event, organized by the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, featured speakers including Prof. Aderonk Okoya from Obafemi Awolowo University and Mr.

Badmu Jamiu, Chairman of the National Environment Society, who discussed the significance of environmental stewardship and collective action to address climate-related challenges.
