Nigerian Army Awards Cash Prizes in Literary Competition

The Nigerian Army, under the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, conducted the COAS Literary Competition, rewarding exceptional pupils and students with cash prizes. The event took place at the headquarters of the 81 Division in Lagos and the 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The first-place winner in the primary school essay category, Ogunbona Faruq from Methodist Primary School, received a cash prize of ₦500,000. Yekini Basirat Anioluwa secured second place in the primary school poetry category, earning ₦250,000.

In the secondary school category, Alvaro Oserem Aghenta from Glowfield International Secondary School in Lekki won third place, while Mishael Miracl Chidinma from Command Day Secondary School in Ojo Lagos placed third in the essay category, receiving ₦150,000. The competition aims to encourage Nigerian youth to showcase their literary creativity and deepen their understanding of the Nigerian Army's role in national security and development.
