NIMASA Urges Staff to Build on Maritime Achievements

Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), addressed staff at a two-day Senior Management Strategy Session focused on the NIMASA Medium-Term Strategic Plan (September 2025 - August 2028) at the Nigeria Maritime Resource Development Centre in Apapa, Lagos. He urged the staff to consolidate the gains made over the past few years to drive further progress.

Under the supervision of Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, NIMASA achieved significant milestones, including four consecutive years of zero piracy incidents in Nigerian waters, Nigeria's election into Category C of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) after 14 years, and the lifting of a 12-year Condition of Entry (CoE) by the United States Coast Guard on vessels from Nigerian ports destined for the USA. Dr. Mobereola emphasized the importance of a disciplined, performance-driven approach to sustain and build on these achievements.
