Contractor Testifies on Projects and Unpaid Bills in Diezani Trial

In the trial at Southwark Crown Court, contractor Toni Mulcahi of Bear Rock Construction Ltd provided detailed testimony on projects related to former Nigerian oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke and businessman Kolawole Aluko. Mulcahi described substantial renovations on properties benefiting Alison-Madueke, including a London property costing approximately £2 million.

The testimony highlighted financial strains faced by Bear Rock Construction due to late and incomplete payments from Aluko, leading to a debt of £270,000. Mulcahi detailed efforts to recover the unpaid bills, including a formal letter delivered to Alison-Madueke.

The trial alleges that the property renovations and luxury services provided to Alison-Madueke constituted bribery. The defense contests these claims, arguing they were part of legitimate business arrangements.

The testimony also revealed the involvement of Donald Amamgbo, introduced by Aluko as a lawyer, in resolving the mounting debts.
