Youth Corps Members Trained in CNG Vehicle Conversion

Youth corps members in Abuja and Enugu have expressed appreciation for the Federal Government and the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) for launching a technical capacity-building training program focused on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion and retrofitting. This initiative, part of the NADDC's collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) under the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) initiative, aims to develop a skilled workforce to support Nigeria's transition to CNG-powered transportation.

The training sessions took place in Abuja on 11 August, Lagos on 17 August, and Enugu on 18 August 2026, targeting corps members from relevant engineering and technical fields. Dr Titi Gbadamosi, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Youth Initiatives, emphasized the importance of equipping young Nigerians with practical skills for the alternative-energy sector.

The Federal Government aims to convert 100,000 vehicles to CNG annually, creating demand for trained technicians and specialists.
