Country Music Legend Dolly Parton Passes Away at 80

Dolly Parton, the celebrated singer, songwriter, actress, and philanthropist, died at the age of 80, as announced by her family on August 25. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who served as her head of security for over two decades, shared the news in a video, stating that Parton had requested him to make the announcement.

Seaver expressed a mix of honor and sadness, noting that "sadness lies with us, not with Dolly." Parton's death followed a challenging period marked by health problems and the cancellation of her planned Las Vegas residency. In an interview published on August 21, she discussed her ongoing recovery and her determination to continue working.

Parton also faced the loss of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025 after nearly 60 years of marriage. Born in Tennessee in 1946, she rose to fame with hits like "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You," and became a successful businesswoman with ventures like Dollywood and the Imagination Library.
