Oyo Court Adjourns Mukaila Lamidi's Murder Trial to 2026

The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, presided over by Justice Oyeyemi Ajayi, has adjourned the murder trial of Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, to July 15, 2026. The adjournment occurred because the state counsel did not file the necessary trial documents, which stalled the proceedings.

Lamidi is standing trial on charges of murder, as he is accused of causing the death of Wonuola Ayind, who was allegedly knocked down by a vehicle. The incident reportedly took place on September 23, 2023, at 4:30 PM in the government reserved area of GRA Agodi, Ibadan.

This offense contravenes Section 325 of the Criminal Code Law of Oyo State 2000, which prescribes punishment for murder. Lamidi, a prominent figure in Oyo State's transport union sector, was arraigned following his arrest in May 2023 during a raid at his residence, where firearms and charms were allegedly recovered.

He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
