Judgment Date Set for Mukaila Lamidi's Murder Trial

Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary, is set to learn his fate on July 9, 2023, as the Oyo State High Court, presided over by Justice Oyeyemi Ajayi, delivers its judgment in his murder trial. Lamidi stands accused of causing the death of Wonuola Ayind by knocking her down with a vehicle on September 23, 2023, at approximately 4:30 PM in the Government Reserved Area of Agodi, Ibadan.

This incident is said to contravene Section 325 of the Criminal Code Law of Oyo State 2000, which prescribes punishment for murder. The trial has faced delays due to the state counsel's failure to file necessary documents, prompting the court to adjourn proceedings.

Lamidi, a former chairman of the disciplinary committee of the state park management system, was arrested in May 2023 during a raid at his residence, where firearms and charms were allegedly recovered.
