Court Delivers Judgment Against 2 Notorious Drug Kingpins, Details Emerge

Two notorious drug kingpins, Ajetsibo Emami and Solomon Akpomuai, were convicted and sentenced in Lagos for illicit drug trafficking. Emami was sentenced to six years in prison or a fine of N1 million, while Akpomuai received a four-year sentence or a N1 million fine.

Emami was apprehended in Ikeja on June 28, 2025, during a raid where a large quantity of drugs was seized. Akpomuai was arrested on June 3 by customs officers along the Ode expressway.

The Chairman of the NDLEA, Brigadier General Buba Marwa, praised the convictions as a significant milestone in Nigeria's fight against illicit drugs. This comes after the recent arrest of Prophet Aanu Olasele for allegedly masterminding multiple shipments of drugs from his church in Lagos.
