Ex-Minister Nnaji to Face Court Over Corruption Charges

The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled the arraignment of former Minister of Science and Technology, Godfrey Uch Nnaji, for July 13, 2026, concerning allegations of corruption and certificate forgery. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has concluded its investigation into Nnaji, who is accused of presenting false credentials during his public service career.

The investigation was prompted by a petition alleging misconduct, which raised concerns about the authenticity of his academic qualifications. Nnaji was arrested at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on July 1, 2026, after failing to respond to an invitation from the ICPC dated May 15, 2026.

Following his arrest, a bench warrant was issued against him on June 11, 2026, authorizing the ICPC to take him into custody. The commission maintains that it has acted within the law and ensured due process throughout the investigation and prosecution.
