Nigerian Court Allows Reopening of Terrorism Case Linked to Bello Turji

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the Nigerian government permission to reopen terrorism charges against five suspects associated with notorious bandit leader Bello Turji. The charges were initially struck out on July 8 due to lack of diligent prosecution.

The suspects, including Bello Turji, are accused of providing material support to a terrorist group led by Turji, involving activities such as drug trafficking, procurement of illicit items, and funding terrorism. The government alleges that the suspects provided support to known terrorists, violating anti-terrorism laws.
