Court Adjourns Suit Against Pantami's PDP Candidacy

The court case regarding the candidacy of Pantami for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship nomination was heard, with Justice Amina Aliyu presiding. The proceedings have been adjourned until July 9, 2026.

The plaintiff, Saleh, is seeking the court's intervention, alleging irregular conduct during the PDP's governorship nomination exercise. Prior to this legal action, Saleh had approached the PDP leadership to address grievances related to the primary election's conduct, insisting that the party exhaust its internal dispute resolution mechanisms to ensure fairness and unity.

However, Saleh described his efforts to obtain redress within the party as unsuccessful, prompting him to institute legal action challenging the outcome of the nomination exercise. This suit is expected to attract considerable political interest as the PDP intensifies preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Gombe State.
