Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Council DG Adeyemi

Justice Moham Umar has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Adeyemi, the Director-General of a council, due to his repeated failure to appear in court for arraignment on eight counts of forgery and fraud. The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was listed as number 12 on the court's cause list, but Adeyemi did not appear, prompting the prosecutor, Wisdom Madaki, to make an oral application for the warrant.

The defense lawyer, Genesi Franci, announced his appearance on behalf of Adeyemi shortly after the case was called. However, the prosecution noted that this was the fifth instance of Adeyemi failing to appear in court, leading to concerns about the consequences under Section 394 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015.

The prosecution urged the court to issue the arrest warrant due to these repeated absences.
