Council DG Adeyemi Arrested Amid Corruption Probe

Adeyemi, the Director-General of a council, was arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, based on a warrant issued by Justice Moham Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja. A video of his arrest circulated widely, showing him handcuffed and surrounded by plainclothes security personnel.

During the arrest, Adeyemi reportedly refused to answer questions posed by the police, which were related to allegations of unlawful operations involving a federal government agency. This incident occurred amid ongoing scrutiny of corruption practices, particularly in relation to a private jet linked to President Bola Tinubu.

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has been conducting a 30-day probe into these controversial matters, although an official statement explaining the circumstances surrounding Adeyemi's arrest has yet to be issued.
