Court Orders Forfeiture of Properties Linked to Ex-Minister

Justice Jame Omotosho of the Federal High Court has ordered the permanent forfeiture of Walijam Apartment located at Plot 435 Lobito Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja, among other properties linked to former Power Minister Mamman. The ruling was made on the grounds that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) established that Mamman unlawfully acquired these properties with funds obtained through criminal activities.

The properties affected include Bloom Luxury Suite at No. 5 Amana Crescent, New Estate, Unguwan Rimi, Kaduna State, as well as mansions at No. 11 and No. 13 Misratah Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, and U Plaza at Plot 734 Kade Street, Wuse 2, Abuja. Justice Omotosho also ordered an interim forfeiture of four additional properties and mandated the EFCC to publish the order in national newspapers within seven days.

The court found that Mamman had siphoned N22 billion, with the EFCC recovering less than N2 billion from earlier forfeitures.
