Sowore Remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre by Court

Omoyele Sowore has been remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre after Justice Moham Umar ruled to revoke his bail on June 16, 2023, due to Sowore's failure to appear in court for his trial. Justice Umar dismissed Sowore's earlier application seeking the judge's recusal based on allegations against him.

The matter has been adjourned until June 24, 2023, for a hearing on a stay motion filed by Sowore's new lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN. The Department of State Services (DSS) had previously issued a bench warrant for Sowore's arrest after he allegedly made false claims against President Bola Tinubu, which were referenced in a criminal post on his Facebook account.
