Sowore Appears in Court from Kuje Prison for Trial

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2027 elections, arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja from Kuje Prison as his trial continued. He is currently held under the orders of Justice Mohammed Garba Umar, pending a hearing on his application to stay the execution of a court order that revoked his bail and issued a bench warrant against him.

This situation arose following his alleged false claims against President Bola Tinubu, which were made in a post on his Facebook account. Upon his arrival at the court on Wednesday, Sowore appeared relaxed, smiling, and conversing with members of his legal team, while a number of activists and supporters were present to await further developments in the case.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is prosecuting Sowore in this matter.
