CRFFN Calls for Solutions to Air Cargo Challenges in Nigeria

The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has called on stakeholders in the air transport sector to address significant challenges affecting air cargo operations in Nigeria. Dr Kingsley Igwe, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of CRFFN, identified issues such as multiple regulatory interfaces, delays in cargo clearance, inadequate infrastructure, high logistics costs, and poor coordination among stakeholders.

He emphasized that resolving these challenges is essential for Nigeria to capitalize on economic opportunities in sectors like e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural exports. Igwe stated that achieving this requires collaboration among all players in the air cargo value chain, including airlines, airports, customs, and freight forwarders.

He highlighted the need for a technology-enabled logistics approach and the importance of digital transformation to improve efficiency and transparency. Igwe also mentioned initiatives like the National Single Window and the CRFFN Logroom4.1 initiative as opportunities to enhance the ease of doing business in the sector.
