Security Guard Arrested for Assaulting Eight-Year-Old

The Cross River State Police Command arrested 37-year-old security guard Ndifreke Godwin for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl in Calabar. The incident took place along Tinapa Road, where Godwin reportedly lured the victim to his residence with a promise of money before assaulting her.

The victim's mother reported the case to the police on Friday, August 29, 2026, leading to Godwin's prompt arrest. Following the arrest, the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation.

The police have issued a medical form for the victim to receive necessary medical examination and treatment. ASP Sunday Eitokpah, the command's Public Relations Officer, assured the public that due process would be followed and appropriate legal action would be taken based on the investigation's findings.

The police also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving minors.
