Police Arrest Suspect in Calabar Rape Case of Minor

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested Felix Solomon regarding the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl in Calabar. The incident was reported on September 8, 2026, at the Ikpa Omin Police Division, following allegations that the victim was forcibly taken to a residence in the 8 Miles area on September 4, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted by two suspects and held for about three days.

ASP Sunday Eitokpah confirmed that Solomon is assisting investigators with relevant information. The police have initiated an investigation and are actively seeking to identify and apprehend other individuals involved.

Commissioner of Police Ajo Geoffrey Ordue emphasized the importance of conducting the investigation professionally and protecting the victim's identity to prevent further trauma. He warned against sexual violence against children and urged the public to report suspected cases.

The command also cautioned against "trial by media," affirming that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
