Afreximbank and Customs Partner for One-Stop Borders

The Nigeria Customs Service, led by Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi, is collaborating with Afreximbank, represented by Dr. George Elombi, to create one-stop border posts aimed at boosting intra-African trade.

This initiative was discussed during a work visit by Elombi to the Customs headquarters in Abuja. Adeniyi noted that the partnership has already made progress in modernizing customs operations, particularly in harmonizing procedures to facilitate the movement of goods across borders.

The collaboration is part of a broader effort to enhance trade within Africa, with a focus on implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Elombi commended the proactive leadership of the Nigeria Customs Service and emphasized the importance of institutional commitment to transforming trade across the continent.

The partnership aims to develop transit initiatives and promote global best practices in customs administration, reaffirming Afreximbank's readiness to support trade facilitation efforts.
