Nigeria Customs Service Addresses Recruitment Concerns

The Nigeria Customs Service has stated that candidates whose names appeared on its recruitment list are not automatically guaranteed appointments, as final screenings are still in progress. This clarification comes after complaints from over 500 candidates who completed the Computer-Based Test, physical examinations, and initial screenings, yet have not received training invitations scheduled to start on Friday.
Abdullahi Maiwada, the Customs spokesman and Deputy Comptroller of Customs, explained that the publication of a candidate's name does not equate to a final appointment. Candidates must pass physical screenings and meet other requirements, including age, academic credentials, medical fitness, and drug use, to be admitted into training.
Maiwada emphasized that even admission into training does not guarantee commissioning as Customs officers, as successful completion of training and meeting all criteria is necessary.
