Nigerian Customs Seizes N1.2bn Expired Flour, Revenue Surges

Nigerian Customs intercepted 5 trucks of expired flour valued at N1.2 billion, contributing to a revenue increase of 182% in September 2025. The Comptroller Command, Wale Adenuga, disclosed the seizure during a press briefing at the Seme Border.

The consignment originated from Egypt and Benin Republic. The joint operation with NAFDAC led to the seizure of the expired flour, posing serious health risks.

Additionally, the command intercepted other items, including cannabis and tramadol, emphasizing the fight against smuggling and economic sabotage.
