Czech Embassy Confirms Nigeria Ineligible for Scholarship

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nigeria issued a statement on Monday, clarifying that Nigerian students are not eligible for the Czech Government Scholarship programme for the 2027/2028 academic year. This announcement was made in response to misinformation circulating online that suggested Nigerian applicants could apply for the scholarship.

The embassy explicitly stated, “For the 2027/2028 academic year, Nigeria is not among the countries eligible for the Czech Government Scholarship programme.” It advised Nigerian students to ignore claims from unofficial websites that listed Nigeria as an eligible country. The embassy acknowledged the interest of Nigerian students in studying in the Czech Republic but reiterated that the government scholarship would not be available to them this year.

It encouraged prospective applicants to seek accurate information from official sources, including the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the Dům zahraniční spolupráce. The embassy expressed gratitude for the understanding of Nigerian students and wished them success in their academic pursuits.
