Dangote Group Denies Rift with Elumelu, Warns Creators

The Dangote Group, led by Aliko Dangote, has publicly denied allegations of a rift with billionaire businessman Tony Elumelu. The company, through its Chief Brand Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina, warned content creators on digital platforms against spreading misinformation, particularly regarding claims that Dangote sought financial assistance from prominent figures, including Elumelu, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Femi Otedola.

Allegations suggested that Elumelu promised $20 million but later ceased communication, with further claims of raising $500 million, of which Otedola allegedly contributed $300 million. The Dangote Group labeled these claims as false and misleading, asserting that neither Dangote nor the company made such statements.

The group expressed concern over the rising trend of misinformation involving high-profile individuals and highlighted the potential reputational damage caused by misleading AI-generated content. They warned that legal action would be taken against individuals or platforms involved in creating or sharing such content.
