Akinwunmi Defends Dapper Music Against Contract Allegations

Akinwunmi, the CEO of Dapper Music, has publicly responded to allegations regarding shady contract agreements with artists. He stated that he has chosen to remain silent for a long time, believing that business disputes should be resolved with facts and legal documentation.

However, he felt compelled to speak out as his silence was being misinterpreted as an admission of guilt. Akinwunmi clarified that every artist received their contract in advance, allowing time for review and negotiation.

He emphasized that the relationships with artists were established in good faith, with legal counsel present during negotiations. He noted that Dvpper Digital distributed the project NSNV, which involved significant label work, including A&R and securing features.

Akinwunmi asserted that all benefits and sign-on bonuses under the agreements were paid immediately, countering any claims of misconduct.
