Schneider Electric and AMD Launch AI Data Centre Design

Data centre operators are increasingly adopting scalable infrastructure designs to address the growing demands of artificial intelligence workloads. Schneider Electric, a global energy technology company, and AMD have collaborated to develop a reference design for the AMD Helios rack-scale solution.
This design aims to assist data centre architects in deploying high-density environments more efficiently while minimizing complexity and operational risks. The reference architecture focuses on four critical areas: facility power, cooling, IT space, and lifecycle software. It supports AI clusters with up to 10.4 megawatts of IT capacity and high-density workloads reaching 246 kilowatts per rack.
The design incorporates advanced liquid cooling systems and aims to achieve power usage effectiveness levels as low as 1.12 at full load. Forrest Norrod, Executive Vice President and General Manager at AMD, stated that the AMD Helios architecture is built to meet the performance and efficiency needs of next-generation AI workloads.
